About Noam
Though born in the UK, Noam Friedlander has dual nationality and is able to work in the United States and UK.
In 1995, Noam worked as an intern at the LA-based newspaper ‘The LA Village View’ before returning to the US a year later to work as an intern at CNN in Atlanta during the Olympics. During this period, Noam worked on the sports desk of the channel working closely with the producer and production team in the edit suites and working across the live show.
From 1997, Noam worked for Zone Ltd, working on merchandising, books and publications for both Manchester United and the Spice Girls. Also during this period, Noam started freelancing for Four Four Two magazine and the now defunct Match Of The Day Magazine.
On leaving Zone, Noam became a freelance journalist working mainly for the Express Newspaper from 1997-1998 as the chief feature writer for the International edition of the paper. It was during this period that Noam also spent her free time writing various books including ‘The Mammoth Book Of Sports’.
Then, in 1998, Noam worked in the sports desk of the Guardian for eight months as well as working for the Sunday Times, writing their sports round up column, working for the ‘Doors’ section of the paper and sub editing on the sports desk at the weekend for the next three years.
Noam then worked for Haymarket Publications in 1999 in their customer magazine department as a deputy editor on Freedom magazine for Chrysler clients as well as contributing to five Haymarket travel, health and Internet titles.
On leaving Haymarket, Noam returned to News International working on the sports desk of the Times newspaper as well as writing religious pieces and columns for the main paper.
In 2000, Noam joined Time Out London in the TV department. During this period she commissioned, wrote and edited reviews for the TV section as well as writing various features for the front of the magazine. Between 2000-2006, Noam interviewed in excess of 150 celebrities including Hugh Grant, Kim Cattrall, Jerry Bruckheimer, Cybill Shepherd, Luke Perry, Eliza Dushku, Greg Rusedski, Sol Campbell, Sarah Parish, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba, Nigel Harmon and Leslie Grantham (together), Hugh Dancy, Keeley Hawes, Toby Stephens, Rupert Penry-Jones, Sam West, Rob Lowe and Aaron Sorkin.
On leaving Time Out in May 2006, Noam started working for Hewland as a script writer on the Sky One show Dream Team. As part of the writing team for six months, Noam worked across five episodes of the final series of the long-running show.
During this period, Noam also freelanced as a TV writer on TV and Satellite Week, The Sunday Telegraph, The Telegraph, The Guardian, The Sun and The Mirror.
In 2007, Noam is in talks to develop further TV projects as well as working as a full time script writer and author.
